F.A.Q.
Quiet Ride Helmets Frequently Asked Questions
Question: If I order a helmet and it does not fit can I return helmet?
Answer: If you order a helmet and it does not fit send helmet back immediately for larger or smaller size that will fit. If you are not satisfied with helmet for any other reason send helmet back immediately for full refund.
Question: Do you ship out of the U.S.?
Answer: We ship almost any place in the world.
Question: What is the warranty?
Answer: One year.
Question: Where is the helmet made?
Answer: All Quiet Ride Helmets are made by a high quality helmet manufacturing company in China. I picked this factory to make Quiet Ride Helmets because of their reputation for making quality helmets and for their exceptional research and development personnel who are capable of designing and developing this new innovative ear noise reduction muff helmet technology within motocross and full face helmets. Also, this factory is very clean inside and outside and well organized.
In case you are wondering why these helmets are not made in the U.S., there are no motorcycle helmet factories in our country. China makes almost all helmets for the world. India, South Korea, and Japan make a small amount of helmets.
Question: I am only interested in noise reduction muffs in helmet, no sound system.
Answer: Helmet speakers come standard in helmet. If you unscrew speaker line to cell phone at back of helmet you will only have noise reduction ear muffs.
Question: Will helmet speakers work better inside ear noise reduction muffs?
Answer: Most certainly; 65% of exterior noise entering the ear is blocked by the noise reduction ear muff sallowing music or voice to be heard at a lower volume.
Question: Will music in noise reduction muffs drown out more exterior noise?
Answer: Yes; exterior noise getting inside the ear noise reduction muffs is nullified (drowned out) by music.
Question: Can I use my own helmet speakers in ear muffs and my own intercom system.
Answer: Yes. Check out pdf file here with explanation and pictures of how to install your helmet speakers in ear muffs. (Speaker installation in ear muffs)
Question: Can I wear sunglasses with ear noise reduction muffs.
Answer: Yes, before pumping up air bladders behind ear muffs to force ear muffs to seal around ears it is easy to slip sunglass arms over ears.
Question: Are there any restrictions for motorcycle helmet speaker use while riding off public roads such as snowmobile trails and all terrain vehicle trails?
Answer: No; not while you are on riding on terrain other than public road, but if you decide to ride on a public road at some time during your ride depending on the state you are in, it may be necessary to turn off music and/or disconnect one helmet speaker to be legal.
Question: How much air pressure in bladders is necessary for ear muffs to seal out exterior noise?
Answer: Quiet Ride ear muff pads are designed with a very thin polyurethane skin over gel and memory foam which allows for minimum pressure to form a seal around the ears. Excessive air pressure in the bladders will not increase noise reduction ability, but will cause discomfort from excess pad pressure around the ears.
Question: Can wearing a balaclava in cold weather effect the noise reduction ability of the ear noise reduction muffs?
Answer: Yes; a balaclava will affect the quality of the seal around the ears. Ear muff pad pressure over a tight balaclava over your ears restricts the ability of the ear muff pad to seal around the ears. Thinner balaclavas stretched over the ears works better than a thicker material balaclava, but still might not be satisfactory.
If you need to wear a balaclava in cold weather you will have the most effective noise reduction from the ear muffs if you cut a hole in the balaclava for your ears, as shown in the picture below. Your ears will stay warm inside the noise reduction muffs in severe cold weather.
Note: If someone asks why you cut holes in your balaclava, just tell them that it's to hear them better.
