  1. An absolute must buy for tinnitus suffers

Posted by Alan S on 10th May 2021

I ride a loud yz250 for off-road trail riding. As a tinnitus suffer, I could not ride without a pair of ear plugs in. To make matters worse I have in the past 2 years developed a type of eczema in my ears that make wearing ear plugs near impossible because of the persistent itching and irritation in my ear canals. I recently ordered one of these helmets to give a try and let me tell you, it is amazing! It quiets down my bike substantially so I can enjoy riding without worrying about my ears. I can go on hours long trails rides and experience no increase it my tinnitus or ear fatigue afterwards. It is great. I am also surprised about the quality of the helmet and the comfort of it. I have owned many expensive helmets throughout the years and this one is probably the most comfortable out of the bunch. I wish I would have tried one of these years ago. If you care about your hearing, buy one of these helmets. It is a great investment you won’t regret it!

  2. Great in a noisy side by side

Posted by Bill Ramsay on 4th May 2021

I bought a new side by side this winter and it was so loud I had to wear big ear muff protection. Helmets are required by law in my jurisdiction. Quiet Ride reduced the noise level to a safe and acceptable level in the sxs. Just ordered another one for my wife. We will be trying Packtalk communicators soon.

  3. Very uncomfortable.

Posted by Daniel on 28th Sep 2020

I tried to wear this helmet for a short 60 mile ride. I had to switch out halfway through back to my normal helmet because this one was digging into my forehead. Extremely uncomfortable probably the most uncomfortable helmet I’ve ever worn in my entire life. I’ll give it another try and update my review if anything changes.

  4. solved my problems - love it

Posted by Bruce Grant on 24th May 2020

My dirt bike is loud, and I was listening to even louder music to cover the noise of the bike. This helmet's design muffles the loud bike, and thus the music can be much lower. Good for my hearing and my music enjoyment. I found the sizing to be accurate. I went up one size just in case and it was too large. Sent it back and Alvin had a smaller one sent right away. It fits great.

  5. Does exactly what you want it to do!

Posted by Askil Bryn on 13th Apr 2020

After riding my supermoto for about 10 hours i got tinitus (which I still have). I though my motorcycle dream was over even before it had really startet.. After searching the internet, I saw that many people struggles with that same problem. But, then i came across these helmets and I ordered one right away!

The helmet does everything I wanted! Now I ride with custom fitted earplugs and this quiet ride helmet, and it works great for keeping the noise down!

    Positives:
The helmet looks good, so really happy about that since I am "forced" to use these helmets. It not a super light helmet, but definitely not a heavy helmet, totally acceptable and not a problem at all. It fits my head really well. The ear muffler system work well. The general quality of the helmets feels good. I am happy about the price as well.

    Negativs:
I live in Norway and these helmets doesn't have the EU approval, so technically it's not legal to use on the roads...
The founder said he is working on this, and if they release one approved for EU regulations, I will buy a new one without a doubt.

    Limitations:
I can't say anything about the longevity of this helmet since I have only used it for about 15-20 hours total, but so far so good. I haven't tested the speakers much either, but they work.

    Greetings from Norway.

  6. Earmuffs replace earplugs, works great!

I bought the Quiet Ride fiberglass motocross helmet and I have to say I am extremely pleased that I did. I had been trying to protect my hearing when riding by using a few different types of earplugs including foam plugs and the plastic baffle style plugs. I've found that there are a number of drawbacks to earplugs including the hassle of keeping them in place when sliding on a helmet, the time involved taking them in and out when stopping momentarily to chat with fellow riders, sore ears from the pressure of them after a couple hours, etc. I figured that somebody must sell a helmet specifically designed to limit noise and thankfully I stumbled across the Quiet Ride helmet. It works exactly as advertised and solves all the problems I've had with earplugs. The helmet slips right on with no fuss, then it just takes a few seconds to pump the air and create the seal which quiets down the bike noise by half or more (about the same level as with the earplugs.) When stopping for a break or just to speak with a riding buddy for a moment, I hit the air release and can instantly hear just fine. No more having to pull off my normal helmet, pop out the plugs, talk, then fiddle with putting plugs back in and attempting to get my helmet back on without dislodging the plugs. So much easier and better!

As for fit and finish, it seems like a well made, high quality product. Looks and appearance are very nice with the mostly black color scheme that goes well and doesn't clash with any other color. Sizing seems true to what is stated (Medium for me. ) Comfort level is just fine, about the same as my normal helmets. I've gone on multiple hours long rides on a couple of my bikes with no problems or complaints about the comfort. I was worried that the helmet might weigh a lot more than a normal motocross helmet, but that doesn't seem to be the case, or if it does weigh more it isn't enough to notice at all. I haven't used the speakers or intercom/bluetooth features yet so I can't speak to how well those work, but those aren't things I normally use when trail riding. Might give that a try at some point but my main objective with the helmet was just the noise reduction - and it is doing that extremely well! Thanks for the great product and I'll be telling my friends about it!

  7. The noise reduction was outstanding!

I received my helmet and took my first ride today January 18th. The noise reduction was outstanding! The helmet fit good and was everything that was advertised. It was great to have a breath box that was custom to the helmet as opposed to after market drop ins. The other priceless addition is the quick latch strap. In the past, I wouldn't go through the motions of strapping my helmet, problem solved. On top of the noise reduction, it was absolutely awesome to float through the powder with good music jamming.
    Thanks so much.

  8. Great noise reduction and still get to listen to music

Al, I have received my quiet ride helmet, thanks for the quick and free delivery, I have got to use my helmet once so far to get out and ride my CRF 450. I was impressed with the noise reduction and still get to listen to music. The way the helmet fits is great with the ear muffs that pump up it makes the helmet stay in place better if you look up going fast it does not have the tendency to roll back as other helmets do. I will be putting it through the test for snowmobiling here soon as we are starting to get snow in the mountains and hope to ride soon. I will email you again soon with an update on how it does while snowmobiling.
